Electrotor-SloMo ~ Motor - Radial Flux - Overview

Objectives:

Efficiency: A highly efficient motor is extremely important. This is because of the aerodynamic inefficiency of helicopters and the heavy weight of foreseeable batteries.

For optimum efficiency it appears that the eventual motor should have;

Slow turning - high torque

Halbach magnets

Slotted stator

Thin laminations

Litz wire ?

Efficient cooling

Light weight.

Redundancy:

There must be redundancy in both motors if the electric rotors (not the aero-rotors) are not strongly interlocked.
