Helicopter - Inside - Interleaving - Morphing
Overview:
A Morphing from Single Teetering Rotor to Full Interleaving Configuration:
To get a better understanding of the relationship between the advanced features and the Interleaving Configuration, and also as a possible way of simplistically presenting the advantages.

Changes ~ Rotor Configuration and Thrust at 90º & 270º Azimuth:
The sequences of these sketches should be rearrainged.


Notes on the Above Changes:

- A conventional teetering rotor.

- Single rotor is replaced by two smaller rotors.
- Use of the pedals is now an option for specific flight requirements.
- Vibration of fuselage increases.

A reduction of the downwash on fuselage during hover and cruise, since the center of thrust can be moved toward the tips.
However, the retreating blade will stall at a slower cruse speed.

A significant reduction of the downwash on the fuselage during hover and cruise due to the Advancing Blade Concept shifting some of the lift from the retreating sides to the advancing sides.
Propeller(s) add for faster cruise

The downwash on the fuselage is further reduced since the Reverse Velocity Utilization moves the thrust of the blades away from the center of the span and toward the root and tip, on the retreating side.

Higher Harmonic Control will improve lift and further reduce the remaining downwash on the fuselage.
A further reduction in the vibration due to the use of 4-blade rotors.

The above must be reviewed and polished up at some point.
A more logical progression from today's helicopter to generation II:
Single main rotor and tail rotor.
Rigid rotor with 3-blades, for greater controllability.
Twin laterally displaced main rotors; for flight symmetry.
Advancing Blade Concept w/ pusher propeller; for increased forward speeds.
Large Chord and Low Tip Speed; for increased forward speeds.
'Absolutely' Rigid Rotors; for reduced cross-couplings.
Active Blade Twist; for greater L/D ratio, increased forward speeds and reduced vibration.
Reverse Velocity Utilization; for greater L/D ratio and increased forward speeds.
High Frequency Leading + Trail Edge Flaps; for reduced vibration.
